Star Sports to broadcast live coverage of IPL – Indian Premier League 2021 in India and its subcontinent (Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, and Nepal) countries; all matches streamed live in India and its subcontinent on Disney + Hotstar digital platform (Website, App) with a premium subscription – Monthly and Annually. Star India has bagged IPL media rights for a massive amount of INR 16,347.50 crores for a period of five years (2018-2022), they acquired TV and OTT (Audio, Video, and other media services via the internet) rights. Disney + Hotstar VIP has tied up with Jio and Airtel. Jio and Airtel are offering exciting prepaid recharge plans bundled with a 12-month subscription of Disney + Hotstar VIP.

Sky Sports Cricket has become the home of the Indian Premier League 2021 in the UK and Ireland. All 60 matches of the 2021 IPL will be shown live on Sky Sports after the company acquired the UK and Ireland TV broadcast rights for the tournament for the next three years. UK viewers will be able to watch all 60 of the matches exclusively live on Sky Sports Cricket and Sky Sports Main Event. Star India announced that Disney + Hotstar now officially available in the United Kingdom and United States of America, and 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL T20) matches streamed online on the digital platform for viewers in the UK and USA. IPL 2021 will be available to subscribers in the two countries via Disney + Hotstar with a subscription fees in two tiers – annually and monthly.

Cricket viewers in the United States can watch Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) live coverage on Willow TV Channel, and SuperSport will telecast live coverage of Indian Premier League 2021 (IPL 14) in Sub-Saharan Africa; all matches live streamed on the SuperSport digital platform (Website, App) and Showmax Pro. Cricket viewers in Canada can watch IPL 14 on Willow TV.

Cricket viewers in Singapore can watch the Indian Premier League 2021 season on StarHub. StarHub customers will be able to catch the IPL 2021 games on StarHub TV+ on new channels IPL Ch 238 and 239. Fox Sports has acquired the rights to the 2021 Indian Premier League, the world’s leading T20 cricket tournament, with LIVE coverage of the competition to be broadcast across Fox Sports and Fox Cricket (available on Foxtel). Kayo Sports will live stream Indian Premier League matches in Australia, a new digital platform in Australia to watch cricket matches online. Cricket fans in Bangladesh can watch IPL 14 matches live broadcast on Channel 9. Channel 9 is a Bengali language digital cable television. Star India win five-year global media rights of IPL – Indian Premier League till 2022. The ‘global media rights’ include Indian television, digital as well as overseas broadcast and digital media rights. The global television and digital media rights, except the Indian sub-continent, have been clubbed together and will be available for five years. “The rest of world is grouped into different territories – for each of them, television and digital rights are clubbed together.

IPL 2021 Schedule

The IPL Governing Council has announced the schedule for VIVO Indian Premier League 2021 to be held in India at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata hosting the mega event. The IPL 14 will kickstart on 9th April 2021 in Chennai with the clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The World’s Largest Cricket Stadium – Narendra Modi Stadium (Earlier known as Sardar Patel Stadium) in Ahmedabad will host the Playoffs as well as the final on 30th May 2021.

Each team will play at four venues during the league stage matches. Out of the 56 league matches, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru will host 10 matches each while Ahmedabad and Delhi will host 8 matches each. 2021 VIVO IPL all matches will be played at neutral venues, no team will play at their home venue. All teams will play at 4 out of 6 venues during the league stage.

There will be a total of 11 doubleheaders where 6 teams will play three-afternoon matches and two teams will play two-afternoon matches. The afternoon games are slated for a 3:30 PM IST start while the evening games will have a 7:30 PM IST start. The VIVO IPL this year at home will be played behind closed doors, to begin with and a call on allowing spectators will be taken at a later stage of the tournament.
